:: ABOUT ::

Kinetic Origins of Rhythm (KOR) rose from the diverse entertainment culture of Las Vegas in the summer of 2007. Inspired by the creative and spiritual freedom of the Burning Man festival, former RCA recording artist Mato began assembling a musical project that would serve as a catalyst for his own healing.

Forced to “grow up” too quickly from a childhood tainted by divorce, violence and drugs, Mato realized that he never had a chance to simply be – a child. Fueled by the desire to return to his own origins – he branded the project, Kinetic Origins of Rhythm, which refers to the very first rhythm we hear... a heartbeat.

Mato’s mantra-infused vocals are accompanied by Ti, a classically trained harpist, singer and songwriter plus the thunderous beats of Blue Man Group veteran Matthew (MLK). Add a diverse group of performance artists dedicated to positive change and you have the foundation of KOR’s tribal family.

KOR performances are designed to inspire people to recognize their child-like, primal essence. Audiences are encouraged to abandon their social masks and participate in the KOR celebration through creative dress, make-up and self expression. With themes ranging from performance meditation to belly dancing, KOR shows are an extension of the groups intention to dissolve the illusory boundaries of separation.

KOR’s music is an electric-organic hybrid of modern technology, combining live drums and a rare instrument known as a Midi-Harp. Their sound is comprised of tribal-dance rhythms and pop-styled vocals that embody a message of Oneness.

KOR is proud to work with people dedicated to creating an atmosphere of unity. The group hopes it’s music may serve as a reminder of the connection we share as one people, one planet, one Universe.

“The Children of the After will rise from the ashes as a humane race. Through music and dance, this new tribe will unite globally and rebuild the Afterworld on a foundation of love and compassion.”
